Skate, Unite, Repeat – Tytöt Shreddaa Takes Over Tampere.

Last weekend, we dove headfirst into the chaos of Tytöt Shreddaa, an all-out skate fiesta held in Tampere’s holy temple of Skateboarding, Muovitehdas. Winters? No longer a menace in this lake-cradled city—Tampere cracked the code years ago with Manserama, the raddest summer skate festival around. And now, for the third year running, the girls and non-binary shredders are keeping the momentum rolling with an event that’s equal parts rebellion and pure joy.

Things kicked off with workshops for the uninitiated, and let’s just say—the turnout was so massive that skate gear was vanishing faster than free pizza at a punk show. Then came the jam sessions, the inevitable slams, and, of course, a proper contest to seal the deal. Just 100% unfiltered, no-rules fun on four wheels.

Nightwood, with the main local brands and shops were beyond stoked to back this madness with prizes because events like this aren’t just good—they’re the kind of thing that keeps the fire burning for generations. You don’t just witness the stoke; you feel it, breathe it, and pass it on like a sacred torch.

Massive shout-out, again, to Tampere for the hospitality, and an extra dose of love to Tiina, Heini, and every die-hard volunteer who made this magic happen. You rule!

Heini and Tiina.
