NIGHTWOOD IDA-VIRUMAA CARNAGE

Villiam Müller, Ida-Virumaa Nightwood offical Ambassador. 360 flip, tre flip… call it whatever makes you sleep at night. Villiam will show you how it’s done.

Three parks. One bowl. Zero brain cells.

Summer punched us repeatedly in the face. Every time we waxed a curb, the rain waxed us back. Weeks of meteorological betrayal later, with school lurking around the corner like a tax collector, Zéphyr’s legs declared a state of emergency.

The kid needed concrete.

So Nightwood’s official crash-test dummy kidnapped his dad Nico, threw a skateboard in the boot, and fled east toward the glorious post-industrial wonderland of Ida-Virumaa.

Why Ida-Virumaa?

Because somebody whispered the sweetest sentence in the Estonian language:

“There’s a bowl in Aseri.”

Not a Gr—-&%+ bowl.

A real bowl.

That’s how bad decisions become beautiful adventures.

We recruited our Eastern Estonia field operative, Villiam Müller—local resident, weekday academic refugee, full-time ripper—and the convoy was complete.

Zéphyr enjoying the giant concrete wave at Rakvere.

Stop 1: Rakvere — Surfing Concrete Tsunamis

Rakvere is less a skatepark and more an argument between an architect and gravity.

Massive transitions. Questionable life choices. Speed you didn’t ask for.

Eddie local hero.

Within five minutes everyone had nearly died at least once, which, by Nightwood standards, counts as a perfect warm-up.

Big love to locals Glenna and Eddie. Nothing beats finding lone concrete pirates guarding their homeland.

Stop 2: Aseri — The Holy Grail

Classic move. Classic joy. Some things never get old. Nico switch to the otherside of the lens.

Ladies and gentlemen…

THE BOWL EXISTS.

Hidden between forests, Soviet ghosts and complete geographical confusion sits one of Estonia’s most unexpectedly perfect little pool. Smooth lines. Proper hips. Fast corners. No hallucinations involved.

The session instantly descended into beautiful chaos.

Zéphyr cannonballed into the deep end like a feral raccoon possessed by the spirit of Duane Peters, scraped a grind across the coping, and exited the bowl making noises usually heard from haunted shopping carts. Proud parenting moment.

Zero fucks given. Go hard or go home!

Honestly, we’d drive across the country again just for this thing.

Stop 3: Kiviõli — The Freshly Poured Identity Crisis

Villiam Müller — kickflip over the rail. Gravity filed a complaint. It was ignored.

Ah yes… the new Gr—”+&%.

We’re becoming those old skate rats who complain about skateparks before breakfast. Fine. Guilty.

Is it good? Nope.

Did we skate it anyway? Absolutely.

Because whining is temporary, frontside grinds are forever, and Villiam turned the street section into his personal laboratory of destruction.

Zéphyr, with an edger, why grind it? Maximum thrill, minimum common sense.

End of the Expedition

Three parks.

One legendary bowl.

Countless slams.

A suspicious amount of gas station coffee.

Ida-Virumaa, you weird magnificent beast—we’ll be back next summer with fresh wheels, bad ideas and even worse judgment.

Now enjoy the carnage, flip through the photos, and to everyone heading back to school…

Don’t let education interfere too much with your skateboarding.

Villiam Müller, battled this one the hard way. The ledge finally surrendered.

Villiam Müller — drop in? Nahhh… let’s blunt in. Why enter normally when you can make it unnecessarily dangerous?

Zéphyr — full-speed grind. No brakes. No mercy. Just concrete screaming louder than a freight train coming off the rails.

Villiam Müller — flipping his way toward disaster. Bad decisions, good rotation. Perfect Nightwood mathematics.

Slob layback — straight out of the ’80s. The move is vintage, but the dude has 46 summers on the counter and still makes it look dangerously fresh.
