“His name is Bob. We don’t ask questions. We just turn up the volume.”
The new Tallinn trio is ready for take-off, so fasten your seatbelt because this flight is not exactly cleared for landing.
Maike Lond — the incontournable stage animal — is back, reunited with her former partner-in-crime Raul Reinup from the legendary ’90s hand-chopping band you all know. Four hands, two guitars, zero mercy for your eardrums.
And behind the drums, Renzo van Steenbergen is now holding the controls, recently taking over from Margo Pajula, whose playing you can still hear on the band’s Bandcamp recordings. HERE
Since Renzo joined the gang, things apparently went from chaos to FULL FUCKING CHAOS. Creativity has been turned up to 11, the volume knob has mysteriously disappeared, and the band is ready to deliver one long-ass sonic assault.
We were lucky enough to sneak into a rehearsal and get a taste of the damage. Our ears are still filing complaints. As your favourite Tintin reporter, we almost left with one conclusion: these might just be the most interesting single-serving friends we’ve ever met.
Now we’re counting the days until August 28th, when I Am Bob will crash the terrace at Burger Box in Tallinn. The neighbours are already nervous.
As they should be.
Expect turbulence. Expect guitar fuzz drilling directly into your brain. Expect noise, sweat, and probably several burgers caught in the blast radius.
And here’s the beautiful thing: this is their first gig.
Years from now, you can bore your friends with the classic line:
“Yeah, I saw I Am Bob at their first show.”
Just don’t expect anyone to believe you when you tell them your brain cells were still buzzing afterwards.
You know the rules.
First rule: don’t expect your eardrums to survive.
The trio first gig event is HERE.
